How to get a Youth Card

Students
If you are attending a youth or higher education programme, you need to start by applying for approval from your educational institution. You can do this in Step 1 on ungdomskort.dk. Once approved, you can order your Youth Card in Step 2.

16-19-year-olds not in education
If you are between 16 and 19 years old and not in education, proceed directly to Step 2 on ungdomskort.dk to order your Youth Card.

Visit ungdomskort.dk

You can get your Youth Card in the Rejsebillet app or as a physical card. The terms and options vary depending on what you choose. We recommend getting your Youth Card in Rejsebillet, where delivery is faster and renewal and payment are easier.

When ordering a completely new Youth Card on a physical card, the delivery time is 12 days, whereas delivery for a Youth Card in Rejsebillet is just one day.

Payment and changes to validity periods
If you already have a Youth Card on a physical card, you can switch to a Youth Card in Rejsebillet when ordering your next validity period. It’s simple and straightforward.

Once you’ve ordered your first validity period at mitungdomskort.dk and chosen to get it in Rejsebillet, you’ll need to retrieve your Youth Card in the Rejsebillet app. You’ll need your MitID. Once that’s done, you’ll pay for your validity periods directly in Rejsebillet. You can also change your validity periods directly in the app.

If you have a Youth Card on a physical card, you must make any changes to your periods at mitungdomskort.dk. When it comes to payment, we’ll send you a payment link two days before your card becomes valid.

You can order your Youth Card on ungdomskort.dk. There are two steps in the ordering process if you are a student and only one step if you are between 16-19 years old and not in education.

Step 1 – Only for students
You need to start by applying for approval to get a Youth Card by clicking on "Step 1 - Bliv godkendt til Ungdomskort".

Step 2 – For everyone
Once approved, you can order your Youth Card on mitungdomskort.dk (the site is in Danish). If you are between 16-19 years old and not in education, you can order your Youth Card on mitungdomskort.dk without approval.

You need to have the following ready when ordering your Youth Card:

  • An active email address that you check regularly
  • A MitID in your own name. If you do not have MitID, you can order it at MitID.dk
  • A valid payment card

If you have chosen to get your Youth Card in Rejsebillet, you must also download the Rejsebillet app.

There is a big difference in how you can pay for your Youth Card, depending on whether you have a Youth Card on a physical card or a Youth Card in Rejsebillet

Youth Card in Rejsebillet

You pay for your validity periods directly in the Rejsebillet app. You can pay for your next validity period up to four days before it starts, using MobilePay or a payment card. You can also save your card details in the app for faster payments in the future.

If you enable notifications, you’ll be reminded when it’s time to pay for the next validity period.

How to add your card details:

  1. Open Rejsebillet
  2. Tap on "Profile" (iPhone) / "More" (Android) in the top right corner
  3. Tap on "Patment cards"
  4. Tap on "Add new payment card"
  5. Choose a four-digit code, which you’ll use when making payments
  6. Enter your card details and confirm with MitID

You can change or delete saved payment cards in the same place.

Youth Card as a physical card

You can pay for your Youth Card as a card via automatic payment or one-time payment. With one-time payment, you manually renew and pay for each validity period. With automatic payment, new validity periods are renewed and paid for automatically.

If you are ordering a Youth Card for the first time, payment must be completed no later than 10 days before the validity period begins. You will receive an email or text message when it’s time to pay.

One-time payment

If you prefer to pay manually each time, you can make one-time payments using most types of payment cards. If you’ve ordered your validity periods at Mitungdomskort.dk, we will send you a text and an email with a payment link two days before your next validity period starts.

You must complete the one-time payment no later than 24 hours before the new validity period begins, and you must then check in with the card for the renewal to be activated.

Payment agreement with Dankort, MasterCard, and Visa – for those over 18

If you are 18 or older, you can set up a payment agreement using Dankort, MasterCard, or Visa. Your Youth Card will then be automatically renewed and paid for each month.

Payment agreement with Dankort, MasterCard, and Visa – for those under 18

If you are under 18, you can only pay via one-time payment or by setting up a payment agreement through your parent/guardian. You must be at least 18 to set up a payment agreement yourself.

Before your parent/guardian can create a payment agreement for your Youth Card, they need to set up a shared payment agreement at Rejsekort.dk. Here’s how:

  1. Parent/guardian creates (or already has) a user profile on Rejsekort.dk
  2. Parent/guardian logs in to self-service on Rejsekort.dk
  3. Click on "Payment agreements"
  4. Click on "Create new payment agreement"
  5. Tick "New bank card"
  6. Choose "Nordjyllands Trafikselskab" and click "OK"
  7. Enter the credit card details
  8. Click again on "Payment agreements"
  9. Click "share" on the right-hand side
  10. Tick "Renew and renewal agreement”
  11. Choose the Youth Card customer from the drop down menu, enter their CPR number and the Rejsekort number from the Youth Card and click "save"

Then:

  1. Log in to Mitungdomskort.dk
  2. Click on "Ret perioder, levering og betaling"
  3. Click on "Ændre betaling"
  4. Tick "Betalingsaftaler delt med kort"
  5. Click on "Gem"

If you or your parent/guardian gets a new payment card

If you have a Youth Card as a card with automatic payment, and you get a new payment card, you must remember to update your payment details at Mitungdomskort.dk.

If your validity periods are paid through your parent’s/guardian’s shared payment agreement, and they get a new payment card, they must update their payment information via self-service at Rejsekort.dk.

If a payment fails because the card has expired or been blocked, we will instead send you an invoice, which must be paid. You cannot use your Youth Card during periods that have not been paid for—you must pay for your journeys in another way.

Once the status for the period shows "Klar til check ind" at Mitungdomskort.dk, the period has been paid for and you can use your Youth Card again.

If you would like to switch from a Youth Card on a physical card so that your Youth Card is instead available in the Rejsebillet app, you need to do the following:

  1. Log in at mitungdomskort.dk

  1. Tap "Profile" (iPhone) / "More" (Android) in the bottom right corner
  2. Tap "Permissions"
  3. Enable "push-notifications"
